All tickets have a timed 15-minute window of entry that begins at the time on your ticket and ends 15 minutes later. You will not be permitted to enter before the time on your ticket, and your entire party must be present to enter.
I’m running late, what should I do?
Entry is not guaranteed beyond your 15-minute window. When you arrive, please notify the Explorer at the door that you were running late. You will be admitted during the next time slot if and where there is availability. Please note you may be asked to wait some time until there is an opening to accommodate your party.
How long is the experience?
Guests must arrive promptly during their entry window and should plan to spend
- approx 45 minutes for the general admission experience
- approx 1 hour to 1.5 hour for Arcadia Lens Enhanced experience
Is Arcadia Earth suitable for kids?
Yes, Arcadia Earth is an immersive art exhibit enjoyable for guests of all ages. Given the content, we recommend the experience for children age 6 and up. We welcome families and children here at Arcadia, but require children to be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Do I need to download an app for this experience?
If you bought a general admission ticket, the Arcadia Earth AR app is necessary to fully experience the exhibit. The app gives guests access to the augmented reality components of the exhibit, as well as additional information, action resources and eco-purchase opportunities - all on their personal devices. The app is free to download on Iphone 7 and up and select Android devices
If you bought Arcadia Lens Enhanced experience there is no need to download any app - the AR is already build in the MIcrosoft Hololens devices that we will provide at the entrance
Are you still lending iPads to visitors?
If you booked a General admission ticket, yes but in an effort to reduce the amount of touch points and shared items within the exhibit, iPads are incredibly limited at this time, and are not guaranteed to any visitors or parties. All guests are strongly encouraged to download the augmented reality app prior to arriving at Arcadia Earth, or to share devices between members of their party.
What does “AR” mean?
Augmented Reality (AR) is a combination of real and virtual (computer-generated) worlds. With a real subject or image that can be captured on a video or camera, the technology 'augments' the real-world image with extra layers of digital information.
What does “VR” mean?
Virtual Reality (VR) is a type of computer technology that creates simulated worlds and environments, based off of the user’s eyes and physical movements. Guests must wear a VR headset to experience the VR components of our exhibit, but participation is not required. All VR headsets will be sanitized between uses by a member of our staff. Please note that use of VR headsets can cause motion sickness similar to car, sea, or air sickness, dizziness, seizures, or blackouts, and may not present until hours after using the VR headset.
Does Arcadia Earth offer coat or bag check?
No, we have suspended all coat and bag check services. With the current COVID-19 precautions we have implemented, we are unable to privately store phones, food and beverages, or other guest belongings at this time.
Do you have public restrooms?
Yes, but please note that Arcadia's single restroom is only available inside the exhibit, and cannot be accessed before or after your visit. Traffic flows one way only in Arcadia, and our restroom will be about 2/3 of the way through your journey.
Can I pay with cash in the eco-market?
No, the COVID-19 safety precautions we have in place allow us to only perform contactless transactions.
I came to the exhibit and do not have any of the photos I took! What do I do?
If for some reason your photos did not send to your email or save to your device, we will offer a comped visit as they are not retrievable once your visit is over. This is of utmost importance and we are working to improve our app quality every day. Please reach out to infoNYC@arcadia.earth if this happens. Thank you for your patience as we work through the continued development of our technology to make sure it is at the standard our guests expect.
