Recently opened on the Las Vegas Strip, Arcadia Earth is the first immersive environmental art exhibit to take visitors on a journey through the environmental challenges of our planet - experienced through large scale art installations and the futuristic lens of augmented and virtual reality. Through art and technology, it expands the creative mediums through which we bring attention to these issues and inspires the public to drive positive change.
The new Las Vegas exhibit was adapted from its NYC predecessor to address some of the key environmental issues in Nevada. So for the entire month of April, the Arcadia Earth exhibit will highlight the work of the local organizations leading the charge on climate action and invite you to ‘Do One Thing’ to support them. Protect Avi Kwa Ame
The Sierra Club’s mission is to explore, enjoy and protect the wild places of the earth, promoting the responsible use of its resources and enlisting humanity to lawfully protect it. Mojave Desert is a fragile ecosystem, threatened by climate change & development. Designating Avi Kwa Ame a National Monument will protect desert ecology, provide species with habitat, connect nearby protected areas ecological systems & help it adapt to climate change.
Three Square’s mission is to provide wholesome food to hungry people, while passionately pursuing a hunger-free community. Our vision is simple: no one in our community should be hungry. Serving the residents of Lincoln, Nye, Esmeralda and Clark Counties since 2007, Three Square works with a service network of community partners in the community to reach struggling individuals and families at risk of hunger.
Nevada Plants is a boots-on-the-ground community-based tree-planting nonprofit. It collaborates with communities to reimagine and visualize the urban landscape. More trees help keep neighborhoods cooler, provide fresh produce to local Food Desert communities who live more than a mile from a supermarket and don’t own a car, and add canopy to minority communities who have 33% less trees on average than majority white communities.
The One Drop Foundation is an international organization created by Cirque du Soleil and Lune Rouge founder Guy Laliberté with the vision of a better world, where all have access to living conditions that allow empowerment and development. Its mission is to ensure sustainable access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene for communities facing extreme barriers through innovative partnerships, creativity and the power of art.
